The Fire Chief will perform a variety of technical, administrative, and supervisory work in planning, organizing, directing, and implementing fire prevention, suppression, and emergency service to prevent or minimize the loss of life and property by fire and emergency conditions. Two (2) years of college PLUS seven (7) years experience with two (2) years command experience OR four (4) years of college may substitute for one (1) year of command experience; OR nine (9) years' experience with five (5) years command experience may substitute for two (2) years of college. Management courses relating to Command/Supervision are required.
