The Department of History at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin Fall of academic year 2025-26. We seek a historian who specializes in the area of Atlantic Slavery and the African Diaspora in the U.S. before 1865. We welcome applications from scholars with transnational or comparative projects. Duties will include undergraduate and graduate teaching in the areas of slavery, US history and the African Diaspora, research, and service to the department, college, and university.Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
