Assistant Professor – History of Modern South Asia

The Department of History at The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor who studies the history of modern South Asia, to begin Fall of academic year 2025-26. We welcome applications from scholars working in all relevant areas of specialization. Duties will include undergraduate and graduate teaching in the history of South Asia, research, and service to the department, college, and university.Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Position funding is subject to budget availability.QualificationsApplicants must hold a Ph.D. in History or other relevant fields by August 1, 2025.
