Safety & Risk Manager . This new hire will work in

the Hunt Valley Plant , located in

Hunt Valley, MD . The Safety Manager will report to the

Benefits include, but are not limited to, tuition assistance, medical, dental, vision, disability, group life insurance, 401(k), profit sharing, paid holidays, and vacations.Position OverviewTo assist in the delivery of robust site Safety plans through advice and coaching of site management as well as employees in all aspects of health and safety working towards the creation of a positive Health and Safety culture. To ensure compliance with current and pro-active health & safety legislation.Responsibilities:Provide advice and guidance on health, safety and environmental issues, actively promoting a positive culture.Advise on aspects of HSE in the design, layout and use of new, modified and trial plant and equipment and process.Facilitate Risk Assessment where appropriate and ensure the actioning of recommendations made.Contribute to the identification of training needs and assist in the delivery of such training where appropriate.Monitor incidents on sites on a daily basis and take action as appropriate.Generate weekly and/or monthly Health and Safety reports for the operations, and prepare relevant reports for Corporate reporting.Carry out scheduled and ad-hoc safety inspections and make recommendations for improvements to relevant personnel.Seek opportunities to develop own SHE knowledge & skills throughout the site.Action continuous improvement activities as outlined in the Annual SHE Plan.To carry out ad-hoc projects and investigations as and when required.Ensure that records relating to Health, Safety and Environment are maintained in accordance with legislative requirements and company policy.Liaise with all levels of personnel within the company and relevant external agencies on matters of Health, Safety and Environment to facilitate improvements.Continuous monitoring and formal six monthly auditing of Health & Safety and Environmental systems and procedures and through full consultation redefine or redesign such systems to ensure compliance with legislation and company policy. Particular emphasis should be given to risk assessments and safe systems of work.Liaise with Company Insurance Brokers and Insurers regarding all liability claims.Requirements:Bachelors Degree preferred but not required.At least 6 years operational experience – preferably within a food industry environment.Safety certification as a plus.McCormick & Company is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
