The Kaplan-Amonette Department of Dermatology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis offers an outstanding opportunity for an academic pediatric dermatologist. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track position (rank to be determined by credentials and experience).With strong support from the University and our local dermatology community, the Department of Dermatology has grown at UTHSC. Our faculty now includes three academic dermatopathologists, five medical dermatologists, and two full-time pediatric dermatologists. We seek a third pediatric dermatologist to help care for our large, diverse pediatric population. This position involves a joint appointment with the Department of Pediatrics, whose Chair is Dr. Jon McCullers. Clinical work will involve both outpatient and inpatient consultation services at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital and inpatient consultation privileges at St. Jude Children's Cancer Research Hospital. We serve a financially and ethnically diverse and often complicated patient population from Memphis and surrounding areas.Basic Qualifications:Successful candidates must have an MD or DO degree and be eligible for full, unrestricted medical licensure in the state of Tennessee. Candidates must be board-certified/board-eligible, and fellowship training in pediatric dermatology is strongly desirable.Departmental Preferences:We seek a third pediatric dermatologist to help care for our large, diverse pediatric population. This position involves a joint appointment with the Department of Pediatrics. A candidate with an interest and/or expertise in the management of complex pediatric dermatologic diseases, as well as infectious diseases or skin diseases in immunosuppressed children, will be particularly attractive.Areas of research focus at Le Bonheur include pediatric obesity and asthma, and research opportunities there or at St. Jude with start-up funding may be available for the right candidate.
