The Montgomery County School Board in Virginia is now accepting applications for highly qualified candidates for possible school principal positions that may become available within our division for the 2024-2025 school year.

Please note this is a "continuous recruit posting" to build an applicant pool for all schools. As positions become available, all qualified applicants with complete application files will be considered. Should a specific location/job be posted, you may also be required to apply to that posting.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:To provide leadership for the instructional program as well coordinate the administrative oversight and planning of all phases of instructional leadership for the school, to include programming, administration, budgetary planning, and discipline of students.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Successful experience planning and implementing instructional initiatives

Experience with state and federal requirements including the Virginia Standards of Learning

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Understanding of the importance of school accreditation and ability to work with parents and staff as a team to achieve the standard

Record of success in establishing an effective learning environment and maintaining high standards of student conduct

Have experience and expertise in using technology in education and administration

A collaborative leadership style

Have experience in fostering an inclusive learning environment

Have experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration and course work

Have effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families

Ability to be dependable and punctual

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from an accredited institution

Post Graduate Professional license with administration and supervision endorsement required

Hold or immediately be eligible for a Virginia license with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision: PreK-12

Experience in implementing educational programs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Three years full time teaching experience and five years of assistant principal and/or principal experience preferred

For elementary positions – Experience at the elementary level

For secondary positions – Experience at the secondary level

Salary:

12-Month Professional salary scale (commensurate with experience) with benefits

Exempt
