Position InformationJob Title: Assistant/Associate/Full ProfessorDepartment: Counseling and Human Services - 23500Pay Grade: Job Category: FacultyJob Summary: The Department of Counseling and Human Services (CSHS) at East Tennessee State University seeks a student-centered teacher/scholar to join our team as a 9-month Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (tenure or tenure-eligible at the time of employment). All areas of Individual, Family, and Community Sciences (IFCS) will be considered. Interest in serving as the coordinator of the graduate IFCS Program is preferred.Primary responsibilities include teaching and coordination of the online graduate Individual, Family, and Community Sciences Program. Course scheduling, maintaining student files/records, student recruitment and advising, accreditation efforts (planning, reporting, data gathering, and analysis), and summer assignments required for the operation of the program. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to teaching human services undergraduate-level courses as needed, robust research and scholarly activities, advisement and mentoring, establishing positive relationships with human service organizations, and appropriate service to the department, college, university, and community.Preferred start date: Fall 2024Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to engage in independent and collaborative research/scholarly work.Ability to facilitate crucial conversations.Demonstrate experience and proficiency with technology and online education.Ability to develop and assess learning outcomes and support students with various learning styles.Ability to engage in administrative duties related to program operations.Required Qualifications:Earned doctorate in Human Services, Counseling, Human Development, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Human Ecology, Child and Family Studies, or a related social/behavioral science field.NCFR membership within one month of hire; CFLE-P credential within 3 months of hire; CFLE credential within three years of hire.Preferred Qualifications:Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with human service organizations or human service-related research or teaching.National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) membership and Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) credential.Effective instructional design and delivery, especially related to online education.Experience in program coordination in an academic setting.An established, focused, and sustainable research agenda.A record of external funding.Familiarity with accreditation processes and standards in higher education.Expertise in one or more of the following areas: trauma and resilience, nature-based therapy, leadership and community engagement; family science, gender and sexuality studies, research methods, and/or child life education.Record of leadership on projects, in association(s), organization(s) and academic department(s).Salary: Commensurate with education and experienceEast Tennessee State University is an AA/EEO employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, veteran status, or age in its programs and activities.
