A Postdoctoral Researcher position is immediately available in the Dave Moz Lab (Chemistry Department and BioInspired Institute at Syracuse University) to develop nature-inspired strategies for controlling the structure and mechanics of biopolymer condensates. This NIH-funded project aims to use post-translational modifications to alter the interfacial and rheological properties of all aqueous emulsions derived from the liquid-liquid phase separation of proteins.Qualifications:A doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, or a closely related field is required.Prior publication record in the characterization of structure and dynamics of soft condensed matter using rheological, scattering, and other techniques.Job Specific Qualifications:Familiarity with the production, isolation, and characterization of peptides/proteins is desired but not required.Responsibilities:Pioneer research areas by intellectually engaging the group.Write proposals.Publish research results in peer-reviewed journals.Train undergraduate and graduate students and coordinate purchasing.Application Instructions:In addition to completing an online application, please attach a curriculum vitae, cover letter, and a list of references.EEO Statement:
