Job Title: Postdoctoral Researcher - Functional Organic MaterialsLocation: Syracuse UniversityPay Range: $58,500 - $65,000FLSA Status: ExemptHours: As determined by principal investigatorJob Type: Full-timeRank: Post DocCampus: Not ApplicableJob Description: The Functional Organic Materials Lab led by Professor Xiaoran Hu in the Department of Chemistry and Bioinspired Institute at Syracuse University is seeking a postdoctoral scholar to conduct research on functional polymers and/or novel drug delivery systems. The initial appointment will be for one year, with potential for renewal for the following years, pending annual review of performance.Qualifications: Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, or related fields.Job Specific Qualifications:Extensive experience in one or several of the following areas: polymer chemistry, photoswitches, sensors/probes, biorthogonal chemistry, nanomaterial self-assembly, supramolecular chemistry.Experience with drug delivery, prodrugs/gene therapeutics preferred.Knowledge of PROTAC, sonotherapy, immunotherapy, or other novel therapy methods.Responsibilities:Design, synthesis, and characterization of small molecules and macromolecules.Construct and characterize nanoparticles for optimal performance as drug delivery vehicles or sensors.Analyze and interpret obtained data.Draft manuscripts for publication.Application Instructions: In addition to completing an online application, please attach a curriculum vitae, cover letter, reference list, and two or three representative publications.EEO Statement: Syracuse University is an equal-opportunity, affirmative-action institution.
