Hamilton Township is accepting applications for the position of
Fire Chief .Hamilton Township is located in southern Franklin County in the Columbus Metro area. The Hamilton Township Fire Department is a combination department with 27 career Firefighter/EMT-P’s operating two stations. The department is a full-service agency that provides emergency response services to a community of 8,260 residents in an area of 13 square miles. The department responds to approximately 5800 runs per year.The Fire Chief reports directly to the Board of Trustees. The position requires an experienced individual who can provide enthusiastic, hands-on leadership and has the ability to develop strong working relationships. Successful applicants will demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills and have a broad background in all aspects of service delivery including fire suppression, EMS, fire prevention, and inspection.Requirements:A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible full-time fire service experience.Five or more years of command officer (Captain) or above preferred.State of Ohio Certifications: Fire Fighter II, EMT, Fire Safety Inspector, Fire Instructor.A valid Ohio driver license.Experience in a combination department.An Associate Degree in Fire Science, Fire Administration, EMS Administration, Public Safety Management, or related field is desirable.Thorough knowledge of effective managerial practices and theories.Computer literacy and knowledge of spreadsheets, budgetary, and basic accounting practices is preferred.Must be in good physical condition and able to pass all pre-employment screenings required by the Township.A very competitive salary and excellent benefit package is offered.Send resume to Hamilton Township Fire Chief:Hamilton Township Board of TrusteesAttention: Chris Hann6400 Lockbourne Road, Lockbourne, Ohio 43137Resumes will be received until 5 PM - October 31, 2023.
