The Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP), Rutgers University invites applications for a Part-Time Lecturer (PTL) with experience in integrated behavioral health to teach either Health Psychology (18:821:561) or Behavior Medicine (18:821:631) in either Fall, 2021 or Spring, 2022. A prepared syllabus is available for review. Candidates will assume primary responsibility for developing or refining the course syllabus, presenting high quality lectures, running class discussions and other teaching activities, and evaluating students based on course expectations and program-wide competencies. PTL's are expected to adhere to high quality instructional practices that integrate multiple modalities and approaches, such as whole class lecture, small group activities, videos, role playing etc. Hybrid formats using a combination of online and in-person platforms may be applied with the appropriate plan.The course would be taught in either Fall, 2021 or Spring, 2022 with the possibility of recurring appointments. The position would be housed in the Department of Clinical Psychology.Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

A doctorate in psychology or related field relevant to course content area; Strong communication, instructional, and organizational skills; Demonstrated knowledge or expertise in the specific course content.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Demonstrated knowledge or expertise in behavioral medicine, integrated health, clinical health psychology. Prior teaching at college level and/or related experiences. Overall responsibility of course instruction and assessment of student competencies.Overview

This position is accountable for teaching and evaluating the learning of doctoral students. The position requires consideration of individual, contextual, and other factors that may influence student learning and the development of essential competencies. This position is housed within the Department of Clinical Psychology of GSAPP, but may involve interaction with graduate level students from different departments within GSAPP, such as the Department of Clinical Psychology and the Department of Applied Psychology.Posting Details
