is one of the most important positions at SOME, Inc. because serving meals is at the heart of our organization.Position Description:
The
Lead Cook
is responsible for preparing daily meals, including breakfast, lunch, and meals designated for delivery to various programs. This role also involves maintaining kitchen operations, overseeing food inventory, and ensuring that all meals are prepared in a timely, efficient, and sanitary manner. The
Lead Cook
plays a key role in ensuring that all kitchen activities run smoothly and that high standards of food quality and safety are consistently met.Required:
HS Diploma or GED; 1-3 yrs. food service or restaurant experiencePreferred:
Culinary Arts Degree; 3 + yrs. institutional food service or restaurant experience; Driver's LicenseRequired License/Certifications : Food Handler's License by the District of Columbia Department of HealthSchedule : Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm (40 hours per week)
