Then please read on.You are skilled in developing, implementing, and coordinating successful fundraising strategies and donor engagement initiatives in a $5M plus fundraise environment.You are a proven strategic leader with strong fiscal management and project and people management skills.You excel at building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders, fostering collaboration and respect for differing viewpoints while demonstrating high emotional intelligence.You are proactive, motivated, self-directed, and flexible, you can work independently or collaboratively with a positive attitude.You are a solution-oriented thinker, delivering creative, data-driven solutions to achieve organizational goals.You foster positive relationships, and handle confidential information discreetly while upholding the highest ethical standards.You possess strong written and verbal communication skills, including engaging public speaking skills.You thrive in fast-paced environments, expertly managing multiple priorities with a keen attention to detail while possessing sound judgment, professionalism, and integrity.You are passionate about development and community building, demonstrating high emotional intelligence and a commitment to personal and professional growth.If this describes you, please apply to join our team.Our Director Of Development And Community Engagement’s ResponsibilitiesSchool LeadershipServe on the Leadership Team, contributing to the school’s overall direction and strategy.Build relationships throughout the school to foster a culture of community engagement and philanthropy.Manage the division’s annual budget and establish corresponding goals and outcomes.Division ManagementDevelop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure resources from individual donors, foundations, and corporations.Lead campaigns, appeals, and events to meet organizational funding goals.Collaborate with the Head of School to achieve annual, capital, and endowment fundraising targets.Oversee all fundraising and community engagement events and volunteer programs.Assess, update and maintain current systems, policies, and procedures for development efforts including: cultivation, stewardship, gift/pledge processing, fund reporting, acknowledgments, tracking and reporting.Integrate development efforts into marketing initiatives to maximize outreach and effectiveness.Manage division staff to achieve goals while supporting their professional growth.Gift Solicitation & Donor RelationsAchieve annual fundraising goals as determined by the Head of School and the Advancement Committee. Current goal is $5M to $10M+ over multiple years.Implement Major Giving strategies, including high level donor relations, and coach leadership on donor solicitation.Identify and engage new funding prospects and tactics. Develop Planned Giving strategy.Develop strategy, and oversee planning and execution of giving programs that are not included under Major Giving.Responsible for all stages of donor management including identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts to the organization.Oversee CRM data management, data integrity, and reporting.Coordinate with the Accounting Department to reconcile donations and prepare financial reports.Board of Trustees Support & EngagementAct as the primary contact between the Board and the Development Division.Support the Advancement Committee of the Board of Trustees by providing education and leadership to engage them in Aspen’s work and enhance resource acquisition.Report regularly to the Board on development strategies, programs, and outcomes to cultivate a culture of community engagement and philanthropy.Aspen Academy is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace committed to providing an environment of mutual respect, where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, national origin, age, physical and mental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and military and veteran status.Compensation PackageHealth, dental, vision, employer-paid telehealth, a holistic EAP, 403(b) with matching and more. Aspen Academy offers an excellent compensation package including wide-ranging opportunities for professional development with a generous annual stipend, and a talented and dedicated staff of teaching professionals and supportive administrators.Salary Range: Starting annual salary $120,000-$140,000 (based on education & experience).RequirementsEducation, Experience, and Certifications:Required: Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s Degree preferred.5+ successful years of experience in fundraising with an emphasis on Major Gifts, campaign and event fundraising, and endowments.Demonstrated success in managing the full fundraising cycle, including donor engagement, cultivation, and relationship-building with current and prospective donors, in $5M plus/year fundraise environment.School based and/or non-profit development experience preferred.2+ years of successful event planning, coordination and execution experience.Demonstrated success in strategic thinking, implementation and analysis of community development programs.Experience with data collection and analysis. Must possess a record of increasing and diversifying financial support.Proficiency in social media and other communication tools.Strong technical skills: Google Suite and project management experience preferred.Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge expert preferred.Have a passion and enthusiasm for Aspen Academy’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan.Model and reinforce the school’s core values, guiding philosophy, rules and school spirit consistently throughout the school environment, and support and hold accountable colleagues in doing the same.Ability to work on-campus, with occasional opportunities to work off-campus to support project completion and related tasks.Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.Grant permission for a criminal background check upon hire.Meet physical demands to perform essential functions of the role.
