Responsibilities & QualificationsThe Bay Minette, Alabama team is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator. The EHS Coordinator will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of safety/occupational health controls, policies, and procedures to achieve and maintain full compliance with regulatory, permit, or license requirements in the specific areas of Occupational Health and Safety.
Responsibilities:
Embrace and promote the Novelis cultural beliefs of Say Anything, Build Trust, Be Authentic, and Be Open.
Recognize, evaluate, and control employee exposures to industrial risks through the active facilitation of the site's Safety Programs and Policies.
Make daily decisions that have a direct impact on the organization’s ability to maintain governmental compliance and the prevention of employee injuries and illnesses.
Help guide facility Security services and be the liaison between them and the facility.
Maintain site safety and health programs, providing technical mentorship on the programs, and recommending improvements for overall efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
1-2 years of relevant experience with health and safety programs and associated regulations.
Ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization effectively.
Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and prioritizing work.
Proficiency in software applications, including Microsoft Office, and quick learning of new technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a scientific subject area.
Previous manufacturing experience.

Location ProfileNovelis’ newly announced Bay Minette facility will be located 35 miles northeast of Mobile, AL, and 45 miles west of Pensacola, FL, and is expected to create approximately 1,000 high-paying advanced careers in modern manufacturing, becoming fully operational in 2025. This highly advanced rolling and recycling facility will be the first of its kind, primarily serving our customers in the beverage can and automotive markets.
