The Environmental Manager primarily supports environmental compliance and permitting projects for U.S. Cement Plants. This role requires collaboration with internal departments regarding the development and implementation of permit strategies and reports directly to the Corporate Environmental Manager.Job Responsibilities

Collaborate with Projects, Planning, Technical, Operations, and consultants on regulatory requirements for compliance and permitting for the plants.Participate in team meetings and provide updates. Coordinate with the plant Environmental Managers to ensure engagement and seek their input.Update the Corporate projects tracking and internal tracking tools as needed.Maintain relationships and communications with internal and external stakeholders as well as regulatory agencies and industry groups.Facilitate the implementation of the Environmental Management System (EMS) at the cement plants, including developing and maintaining programs, procedures, and tools.Communicate the status of permitting projects, compliance issues, corrective actions, and implementation to the internal team.Perform environmental inspections, including reviews of regulatory reporting, record keeping, site walks, and EMS review.Promote cross-share learnings and action plans, including the development and implementation of compliance strategies for key issues.Support environmental compliance and training programs across multiple business units, as assigned.Assist with regulatory permitting for cement plants and terminals. Review draft permits and provide comments.Propose corporate and site level environmental objectives, targets, and performance indicators to drive continuous environmental performance improvement.Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a relevant degree.Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in the industrial sector, preferably construction materials, oil & gas, or a related industry.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong written and oral communication skills.Detail-oriented with excellent time management and project planning skills.Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.Ability to interact with senior business and government officials.Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to stay updated on emerging issues.Ability to continuously improve processes.Working Conditions

Ability to travel up to 20 - 40%.Frequent long hours and on-call availability for emergencies.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.Ability to work with standard office/computer equipment.Capable of working in an open office environment.Physical Requirements

Requires sitting/standing in front of a computer for extended periods.Requires ability to climb stairs and walk distances.Adherence to safety rules in office and industrial plant locations where PPE is required.Legal Notices
