Post Doctoral Scholar to pursue research studying mechanisms of macrophage interactions between Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the Department of Microbial Infection & Immunity; designs, conducts, and evaluates research experiments; plans and executes advanced molecular biology and immunology research techniques and procedures including multicolor flow cytometry; develops, adopts and implements new laboratory methods; analyzes and interprets data; writes research papers for publication; performs scientific literature searches; presents research findings at local, national, or international scientific meetings; applies for postdoctoral fellowships; assists PI with writing and submitting grant proposals to obtain extramural funding in support of research; participates in journal clubs, laboratory meetings, and Department seminars and activities; assists with training of other lab members.

Minimum Education Required

MD, PhD, or MD/PhD required.

Required Qualifications

Ability to interact in a highly multidisciplinary environment; experience with molecular biology and immunology research techniques and procedures desired; experience with animal handling and husbandry desired. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
