Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher for the Nutritional Physiology Laboratory.The postdoctoral researcher will work on Department of Defense-funded studies and with an interactive research group as part of the Center for Military Performance and Resilience at Pennington Biomedical Research Center. Primary research topics include the assessment of disease prevalence and health status and analysis of associative relationships between nutrition, health, and performance in active-duty Service Members. Candidates will use large surveys, such as the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, to understand nutrient intake patterns in the US population and how these patterns relate to cardiometabolic health outcomes in the civilian population. In addition, candidates may work on secondary data analysis from nutritional and environmental intervention studies that alter body composition, energy balance, and/or macronutrient metabolism for the prevention and treatment of chronic metabolic diseases.This fellowship will provide training and hands-on research experience in military field studies; clinical trials; assessment of dietary intake, energy expenditure, and nutritional and health status; and grant writing and scientific communication.Major Responsibilities:Coordinate general planning and operations: oversee regulatory submissions; assist with establishing priorities, timelines, and processes for the study.Assist with recruitment efforts and participant briefings.Coordination, implementation, and execution of data collection at field sites to ensure consistency with established strategies, commitments, and goals, ensuring that data quality is maintained and assessment milestones are met.Conduct data analysis and preparation of data for publication in peer-reviewed journals.Hypothesis generation.Grant writing and scientific communication.Required Qualifications:PhD in Nutrition, Physiology, Biology, or other science-related degree.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills.Detail-oriented with the ability to effectively multi-task.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and the ability to learn and utilize new computer programs quickly and accurately.Ability to efficiently work and interact with personnel at all levels within the organization.Ability to, or willingness to learn, perform clinic measures.Pennington Biomedical Research Center (PBRC) is an equal employment opportunity employer and serves as a model employer for individuals with disabilities.Additional Job Description:
