Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a world-renowned academic research institute of Louisiana State University, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Energy Expenditure Systems Neuroscience.The successful candidate will work on a fully NIH funded project to study neuronal circuits that regulate metabolism and will work with state-of-the-art technologies to decipher exact neuronal circuits that adjust metabolism during physiological challenges and are important to maintain body weight. The position involves work with transgenic animal models, cre/loxP systems, pharmaco- and optogenetics, fiber photometry, viral tracers, neuroanatomical/histological techniques (iDISCO tissue clearing and lightsheet microscopy), metabolic measurements in temperature-controlled chambers, thermal imaging, hormone assays, and analysis of peripheral tissues. The position will involve further development of present techniques and their implementation, data analysis, manuscript writing, and assistance in grant writing.Qualifications
