- 3.5% effective December 22, 2024.Educational Incentive

Job Overview:Under supervision, Sheriff's Cadet I and II performs a variety of duties in a trainee capacity. Incumbents provide support in a variety of areas in the Sheriff's Office.

Distinguishing Characteristics:Sheriff's Cadet I

represents the entry level for cadets. Incumbents receive training in assigned duty areas in order to acquire the experience necessary to advance to the journey level.

Sheriff's Cadet II

represents the journey level following completion of a minimum of 800 hours of acceptable performance as a Sheriff's Cadet I.Cadet positions consist of part-time employment, which is usually 20 hours per week, and full-time, which is 40 hours per week.
