Assistant Professor In Psychology (Subfield Open)R0008898TampaPosition DetailsThe Department of Psychology at The University of Tampa is inviting applications for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level to begin August 2025.The Psychology Department at The University of Tampa is a collegial department with 19 faculty and approximately 550 undergraduate majors. Undergraduates are offered a high-quality educational experience and are provided with training in the clinical, organizational, biopsychology, cognitive, social, and developmental subfields. Experiential education is emphasized with numerous opportunities for faculty-mentored student research, internships and service learning.The faculty and administrators in CSSME, along with professional staff across the University, will provide meaningful support for your teaching and scholarship as elements of your personal and career development. We are searching for teacher-scholars who will serve as mentors for our diverse student body, and who have a demonstrated commitment to the academic success of all students.QualificationsCandidates must have interest in and/or experience teaching introductory courses including general psychology and introductory research methods and statistics. Candidates will also have the opportunity to teach lower and upper-level classes in their specialties. An interest in teaching careers in psychology is also preferred. Teaching responsibilities include 12 hours per semester, typically three, 4-hour courses each semester. Other responsibilities will include standard student advising, committee service, and maintaining an active record of scholarship. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Psychology. Preference will be given to candidates with interest in and/or experience with mentoring undergraduate research. College or university teaching experience and demonstrated scholarly activity in the field are preferred.Review of applications will begin on October 11, 2024 and will continue until the positions are filled.
