We seek an enthusiastic and accomplished individual with a terminal degree in Special Education, Exceptional Student Education, or related field.The faculty and administrators in the College of Social Sciences, Mathematics, and Education, along with professional staff across the University, will provide meaningful support for your teaching and scholarship as elements of your personal and career development. We are searching for teacher-scholars who will serve as mentors for our diverse student body and who have a demonstrated commitment to the academic success of all students.Required QualificationsEarned doctorate (by August 2025) in Special Education, Exceptional Student Education, or related field.Demonstrated record of research in the areas of Exceptional Student Education.Strong knowledge of IDEA classifications and federal laws related to Exceptional Student Education.Working knowledge of Exceptional Student Education state and national standards.Experience in higher education program development and accreditation.Demonstrates value for human diversity issues and related social concerns.Possess leadership potential and strong commitment to research.Preferred QualificationsExperience in college level teaching.Demonstrates potential or a record of significant contributions to educational research.Documentation of successful teaching experience in a K-16 setting.Strong commitment to teaching excellence and student success.Experience with external funding.Publication of peer-reviewed articles.Experience with mentoring/coaching teachers, research studies, or teaching activities.Collaboration on interdisciplinary projects.Experience in successfully teaching undergraduate or graduate courses.Experience with teaching classes across various modalities.Experience in developing online courses or modules.Evidence of leadership in scholarship, teaching, or service.Engaging in the community through partnerships.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.ResponsibilitiesDeveloping and teaching a range of courses related to Special Education or related field.Engaging in and maintaining an active and impactful research agenda in the field of education.Developing and delivering innovative and engaging curriculum that aligns with current educational trends and standards.Mentoring and advising students contributing to their academic and professional growth.Collaborating with colleagues in committee work, on research projects, and publications.Participating in departmental and university service activities.Contributing to the development and enhancement of curriculum and program offerings.Review of applications will begin on October 28, 2024.
