Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania invites applications for an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department beginning August 2025. The Computer Science Department offers a BS in Computing with concentrations in Computer Science, Information Technology and Data Analytics, a BS in Cybersecurity with concentrations in Secure Software Development and Secure Governance, and a Masters in Health Informatics and Information Management.Position Summary:
Duties include committee work at departmental, college, and/or university levels, academic advising, scholarly activities including research that may involve undergraduate students, and other duties as assigned. Teaching assignments will include courses in the computing and/or cybersecurity majors, including teaching advanced computer science courses.Minimum Qualifications:Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field.Successful performance in an on-campus interview, including a teaching and research demonstration.Perceived ability to work productively with students and colleagues.Commitment to the education of diverse populations.Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with online teaching and learning software.Experience providing evidence of the ability to teach core computing classes.Commitment to research and scholarly activities including publications in computer science/Cybersecurity.Familiarity with a broad range of assessment techniques, instructional technology in the teaching-learning process, and the role of faculty in student success, recruitment, and retention.Application Instructions:
