WE ARE HIRING FOR ONE MANAGER POSITION. THIS ROLE CAN REPORT TO ANY OF OUR CURRENT SUBSIDIARY LOCATIONS.

Through its wholly owned subsidiaries, American States Utility Services, Inc. contracts with the federal government to provide water and wastewater services that include operating, maintaining, renewing, replacing, and constructing new systems on military installations throughout the United States. The installations where we presently operate are home to nearly 350,000 military and civilian personnel and families.

POSITION DEFINITION:The incumbent in this position is responsible for managing the Company's Environmental, Health, and Safety Programs. This includes monitoring federal, state, and local environmental, water quality, and public water supply regulations and legislation, and assisting the Operations, Engineering, and Construction teams in compliance with these regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Oversees the Company's environmental and safety programs, including permits and OSHA directives and requirements.Monitors the maintenance of relevant documentation for accurate record-keeping.Prepares/updates environmental, health, and safety policies for Officer approval.Directs cross-site programs ensuring compliance with regulations.Initiates and participates in environmental audits.Interprets and recommends actions to comply with applicable laws and regulations.Develops and supervises training programs for employees.Conducts data analysis and prepares reports for management.Serves as the Company's representative on environmental, health, and safety committees.Assists in proposal development relating to environmental, health, and safety issues.Coordinates activities with Federal, State, and Local officials on environmental permits.Identifies environmental, health, and safety hazards to minimize liability.Oversees the Company's subcontract risk management program.Performs periodic field inspections and safety inspection reports.Ensures communication with state health department and OSHA representatives.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field; Master's degree highly desirable.Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental engineering and water/wastewater operations.Minimum 10 years of direct safety experience and/or supervision.Minimum 5 years' experience in supervising technical staff.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.Willingness to travel as required by project needs.
