Sommelier
to join the food and beverage team in Chicago's Gold Coast!This Forbes 4-Star property located in downtown Chicago has a Parisian-style charm with 318 rooms, 8,500 square feet of banquet space, and 4 food and beverage outlets. This includes a restaurant, cocktail lounge, cafe, and in-room dining.In this role, you will focus on wine in Brass Tacks, supporting staff training, menu updating, and inventory. This role reports directly to the General Manager of Restaurants & Bars and assists in the other 3 food and beverage outlets as needed.A Sommelier is responsible for recommending wines and having a thorough and current knowledge of wines to deliver an excellent Guest experience while assisting with achieving departmental targets.What will I be doing?As a Sommelier, you are responsible for recommending wines and having a thorough and current knowledge of wines to deliver an excellent Guest experience. A Sommelier will also be required to assist in achieving department targets. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:Provide professional and current knowledge of wines to guestsRecommend wines to accompany relevant dishes to patronsDescribe and up-sell wines to provide excellent customer experienceSuggest wines to accompany new menus in line with financial budgetProject a professional manner with an emphasis on hospitality and guest serviceEnsure accurate billingServe Alcoholic/non-Alcoholic beverages in conjunction with licensing/liquor regulationsComply with hotel security, fire regulations, and all health and safety legislationAttend training provided by the hotelWhat are we looking for?A Sommelier serving Hilton brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members.
