Summary:

The EHS Manager will be responsible for leading and enhancing the implementation, coordination, and sustainment of EHS programs at multiple manufacturing sites. This would also include championing site-specific initiatives to ensure compliance with local and federal regulations. EHS Manager responsibilities also include recommending equipment upgrades/changes, educating employees/managers, as well as analyzing accident investigations to help identify root causes and corrective actions.

Essential Functions:

Identify EHS, OSHA, EPA, DOT, and DHS regulations applicable to processes at the facility and assist in implementing standards and programs.Identify and recommend improvements to health & safety systems to reduce costs, increase productivity and efficiency, and improve overall safety culture.Assist during interaction with regulatory agencies.Serve as subject matter expert, providing technical guidance concerning health & safety issues.Keep apprised of federal, state, and regional laws and regulations affecting locations and maintain working relationships with regulatory agencies.Assist in incident investigations such as injuries, vehicle accidents, and property damage.Assist sites to determine root causes of incidents and assist with corrective action plans for each incident.Ensure timely notification is made to regulatory agencies and company management for incidents.Monitor location for unsafe work practices and unsafe work conditions.Assist and coordinate spill response efforts.Evaluate operational practices for environmental risk.Ensure preparation, submittal, and maintenance of any regulatory environmental reporting.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in an EHS specialty is preferred or a minimum of 5 years related experience.Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing environments.Must be able to effectively communicate, influence, and train employees.Travel up to 20%.
