The Electrical and Computer Engineering department is hiring a part-time instructor at the rank of adjunct Assistant Professor for the Spring-2025 semester. The candidate is expected to teach the graduate course Power Electronics for Renewable Energy Systems—ELEN 4220 / EECE 5220. For best consideration, please apply by October 15, 2024.Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching the graduate 3-credit in-person course ELEN 4220 / EECE 5220; prepare syllabus; conduct in-class sessions; prepare and administer supplementary laboratory content; prepare and administer quizzes and exams; grade students’ work; record midterm and final course grades in D2L; maintain a minimum of two office hours per week.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Earned doctorate or a terminal degree. Five years of teaching experience or other suitable professional experience.Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Specialization in power electronics including the fundamental concepts, techniques, and methods for design and analysis of power electronic systems, including modeling of semiconductor switching devices for use in power electronic systems, practical aspects and power electronic conversion techniques for rectifiers, DC-to-DC converters, DC-to-AC inverters and their applications in power electronic systems.Department
