Fall QuarterOlympic College is recruiting a full-time Technical Design faculty to join the team at the college’s campus at the Washington Corrections Center for Women. Courses will include Technical Drawing, Solid Edge, AutoCAD, and Technical Math, and other design path courses. Olympic College seeks to recruit faculty who will enthusiastically support the College's commitment to the academic success of all of our incarcerated students, including first-generation students, students of color, students with disabilities, military veterans, students of varying ages, students of diverse sexual orientations and gender expressions, and students of diverse socio-economic backgrounds.Responsibilities:Collaborate with Technical Design faculty to provide incarcerated students with relevant, up-to-date training and skills.Demonstrate success working with individuals and groups representing a wide range of diverse cultural, geographic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.Demonstrate a commitment to teaching students with little or no subject background, as well as the experienced student desiring to further their careers.Effectively teach and manage classes with students from a broad spectrum of abilities and experience.Support diversity in higher education through the application of multiple teaching pedagogies and the use of diverse resources/voices.Foster a climate of multicultural understanding and appreciation.Create engaging teaching and learning environments that facilitate student success.Demonstrate an understanding of and enthusiasm for offering education in a correctional facility.Participate in continually updating the curriculum.Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments in learning environments and activities.Utilize a variety of assessment activities to evaluate student learning and achievement.Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.Minimum Qualifications:Associate’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Technical Design or a related field.Two years of industry experience in drafting or technical design.Basic computer literacy using Microsoft Office products.Proficient in Computer-Aided Drafting and technical drawing software.Desired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Technical Design, or a related field.College teaching experience.Experience working in an industrial environment.Expertise in Solid Works, Solid Edge, and Project Management.Terms of Employment:This is a full-time faculty position contracted on an annual basis. Placement on the faculty salary schedule will be commensurate with educational background and experience. Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the department.
