POSITION TITLE:

Lecturer Pool – Theatre and DancePOSITION DETAILS:The Department of Theatre and Dance at California State University, Sacramento, is committed to promoting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment. Duties of a part-time lecturer include instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours. Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs. Course assignments are made by the Department Chair under the direction of the College Dean.Part-time lecturers are instructional faculty with conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget. Hires from the pool of applicants are made when there are instructional needs to fill coursework offered by an academic department. Initial appointments are typically for one semester, with the possibility of renewal based on department needs and performance.Rank and SalaryInitial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional and/or teaching experience and educational background. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. The salary ranges indicated are based on a "full-time rate" (15 weighted teaching units [WTUs]).REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:THEATRE:

Training in acting, voice, movement, audition technique, technical theatre practices, design, history, literature, criticism, multicultural theatre, musical theatre, puppetry, and film studies.REQUIRED:

Bachelor's Degree plus the equivalent of at least five years teaching or relevant professional experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's of Fine Arts or Doctorate in Relevant Teaching Area.DANCE:

Training in dance technique, performance, production, choreography, theory, dance history, and dance education.REQUIRED:

Bachelor's Degree plus the equivalent of at least five years teaching or relevant professional experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
