School of MusicPOSITION DETAILS:The School of Music at Sacramento State offers rigorous study associated with prestigious conservatories, alongside an outstanding liberal arts education. We offer the Bachelor of Arts degree in Music; Bachelor of Music degrees in seven concentrations (Instrumental, Keyboard, Voice, Theory/Composition, Music Education, Jazz Studies, and Jazz Education); the Master of Music degree in conducting, composition, or performance concentrations; the Minor in Music; and the Performer’s Certificate.Specific areas of sub-disciplines of need include: American Music; World Music; Applied Music (all instruments and voice); Class Piano; Ensembles; General Education courses; Jazz Studies; Music History and Literature; Music Theory; Music Education; Music Technology.Duties:

Duties of a part-time lecturer include instruction, class preparation, grading, Canvas course management, and office hours. Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs. Course assignments are made by the Department Chair under the direction of the College Dean.Part-time lecturers are instructional faculty with conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget. Initial appointments are typically for one semester, but may be renewed based on department needs, funding, and performance.Rank and Salary:

Initial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional and/or teaching experience and educational background. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. The salary ranges indicated are based on a "full-time rate" (15 weighted teaching units [WTUs]).REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree in the discipline or Bachelor’s Degree with more than five years of relevant professional experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:APPLICANT INSTRUCTIONS:A complete updated curriculum vita/resume that includes qualifications, degrees, specialization, courses taught at Sac State, teaching experience at other institutions, and other relevant professional experience.A document that lists the courses you believe you are qualified to teach.NEW applicants are required
