Lecturer Pool – Theatre and DancePOSITION DETAILS:The Department of Theatre and Dance at California State University, Sacramento, commits to promoting a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment. This commitment is rooted in providing a thorough foundation of the history, theory, literature, performance, design/technical, and management practices of theatre and dance. Our curriculum supports studio work and productions, challenging our students to be interdependent, inclusive leaders.Duties of a part-time lecturer include instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours. Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs. Course assignments are made by the Department Chair under the direction of the College Dean.Part-time lecturers are instructional faculty with conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget. Appointments are typically for one semester, but may be renewed based on department needs, funding, and performance.Rank and SalaryInitial rank and salary for lecturer faculty are based on professional and/or teaching experience and educational background. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. The salary ranges are based on a "full-time rate" (15 weighted teaching units [WTUs]).REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:THEATRE:

Training in acting, voice, movement, audition technique, technical theatre practices, design, history, literature, criticism, multicultural theatre, musical theatre, puppetry, and film studies.REQUIRED:

Bachelor's Degree plus at least five years of teaching or relevant professional experience.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's of Fine Arts or Doctorate in Relevant Teaching Area.DANCE:

Training in dance technique, performance, production, choreography, theory, dance history, and dance education.REQUIRED:
