The CNS Research Group at Alnylam Pharmaceuticals is seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist, with expertise in cutting edge spatial genomics, molecular and protein spatial omics to join our innovative, fast-paced, and interdisciplinary team. We particularly seek someone who is detail-oriented, and who will flourish in a goal-driven team environment under ambitious timelines independently. The successful candidate will be technically skilled, self-motivated, and have the flexibility to work in a well-networked team that responds rapidly to changing conditions.Key Responsibilities

Successful candidate will be working with the CNS platform and program teams to evaluate PK/PD of compounds utilizing spatialomics technologies.Assist in the design and execution of research projects, including experimental protocols, and large cloud data maintenance.Collaborate with cross-functional groups to support multiple projects.Responsible for inventory and maintenance of non-clinical sample, reagents and materials.Responsible for maintenance of spatialomics platform and attached devices and preparation of clearly articulated experimental reports.Ability to learn new techniques quickly and contribute innovative ideas and approaches to address various scientific questions from groups.Qualifications

BS or MS with 3-7 years for senior associate of relevant post-degree experience in academia or in the biopharmaceutical industry.Extensive experience in basic molecular biology and biochemistry techniques including RNA/DNA/protein extraction from fresh and FFPE tissues for related in vitro assays such as qPCR and ELISA.Experience in advanced molecular biology, biochemical technologies including multiplex immunohistochemistry (IHC), multiplex fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) and whole mount in situ hybridization with brain or other tissues from various species.Good knowledge and experience in various liquid handlers for IHC and FISH.Good skills for fresh frozen sample preparation with OCT embedding and sectioning with cryostat is a plus.Good skill for the rodent cardiac perfusion with peristaltic pump is a plus.Experience and good understanding in bioinformatics datasets is a plus.Ability to follow SOP/IACUC, execute, analyze, interpret, troubleshoot, and optimize experiments.Excellent lab technique to handle several fragile samples at once and the ability to work independently.Good documentation of all experimental procedures and results in compliance with Electronic Lab Notebook guidelines.Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working in a cross-functional team.Experience in cutting-edge spatialomics technologies and laboratory automation systems.Organize and document experimental details in a timely manner.About Alnylam:
