Position Announcement:

We are seeking to fill two tenure-track positions in our newly established Department of Data Science, to begin in fall 2025. We invite applications from researchers working in Data Science, broadly defined, including those contributing to data analysis methodology across various domains (e.g., artificial intelligence, machine learning, statistical inference, computational/applied mathematics, data visualization). We are committed to centering justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion (JDEI) in our department's research, teaching, and organization. Strong faculty candidates will have demonstrated impactful contributions to JDEI and collaboration with domain experts.Strong candidates will have excellent research scholarship, with metrics of success that may include policy impact, community engagement, and collaborative projects. A commitment to teaching and mentoring is essential. We seek candidates enthusiastic about developing a culture of inclusive excellence in our department.Minimum Requirements:

PhD at the time of appointment in a discipline related to data science (e.g., statistics, computer science, applied mathematics).Research portfolio that contributes to data science methodology.Research portfolio that applies tailored data science to a specific domain area.Preferred Qualifications:

Promise of developing a strong research program in their area.Demonstrated success in collaboratively building organized spaces of inclusive excellence.Exemplary evidence of a commitment to advancing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion through research, teaching, and service.About the University:
