Worship Leader

OverviewOur mission-minded, community-focused little church in Valparaiso, Indiana, is hiring a part-time music leader to start as soon as possible. Starting at $100-$150/week (quarter-time position) to lead music in two services each Sunday and coordinate with any volunteer musicians for rehearsals. At first, there will be Sundays leading solo, so we need someone who can both sing and play well, but we have volunteer musicians who can and will join in when available. Other ministry opportunities may be available going forward, depending on the calling/interests/passions of the person hired.Duties- Plan and lead the music portion of our 9:00 and 10:30 worship services each Sunday.- Raise up and coordinate volunteer musicians, vocalists, and technical teams for rehearsals and performances.- Cultivate a welcoming and engaging worship experience for all attendees.- Collaborate with the pastoral team to align music with the overall message of the service, when possible.Skills- Solid/growing communication skills to effectively engage with the congregation.- Ability to educate and inspire through music.- Strong/growing leadership qualities to guide the worship team.- Mentoring skills to develop and support team members in their musical abilities would be a plus!Job Type : Part-timePay : $100.00 - $200.00 per weekExpected hours : 6 – 10 per weekBenefits :Paid time offProfessional development assistanceSchedule :Weekends onlyAbility to Commute :Valparaiso, IN 46383 (Required)Ability to Relocate :Valparaiso, IN 46383: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location : In person
