Position Purpose:The Title I Assistant Principal performs those tasks assigned by the school principal, and functions as a member of the building educational leadership team to provide a safe and rigorous learning environment for students.

Essential Job Responsibilities:1. Instructional Leadership
Maintain a current knowledge base of curriculum, instruction, assessment and Title I best practices with an emphasis on early literacy (Science of Reading)
Assists in the establishment of school improvement goals, strategies, and actions that elevates the learning of ALL students
Assist in the collection, dissemination and analysis of performance data to uncover trends and act strategically and effectively to assist teachers in improving results.
Provides leadership in planning, implementing and evaluating Title I instructional programs.
Assists in the planning, coordination and implementation of the Title I schoolwide plan through professional learning that addresses the student and staff needs.
2. Culture and Conditions for Learning
Provides leadership of the positive supports team in planning, implementing and evaluating positive support systems and school improvement implementation
Assists with the monitoring of positive support plans to ensure federal and district guidelines are followed and implemented with fidelity.
Engages in personal professional development and growth of Positive Support practices that will enhance and improve schoolwide implementation as it aligns with the continuous school improvement plan.
Fosters a culture of collaboration with staff and families through visibility, outreach, and purposeful interactions.
3. Staff
Assist in the staff hiring process focusing on candidates with knowledge and skills that align with the student/staff needs.
Support staff professional learning and growth through goal setting, coaching, collaboration, resources, and professional development that addresses the goals of the Schoolwide Title I plan.
Observe and evaluate staff (certified and classified) as assigned and provide direction and support to accomplish growth goals that focus on student results.
4. Curriculum
Assess and evaluate the level of implementation of a guaranteed and viable curriculum
Use assessment data to drive leadership actions and multi-tiered system of supports
Assists in observing and meeting with teachers to ensure Title I interventions are implemented to achieve desired results.
5. Students
Assists with and keeps the safety, health and well-being of students foremost throughout the performance of all duties.
Assist in the implementation of the behavior referral process and schoolwide positive support system.
Meets with students, parents and staff as necessary to solve problems and address specific student behavior issues.
Provides explicit reteaching of behavior skills as appropriate and coordinates follow up for students needing additional support.
Maintains records of student behavior and discipline and uses data to drive support
6. Resource Management
Assists in the use, monitoring, collection, and expenditure of Title I funds and resources according to Federal and district policies and procedure
Additional Job Responsibilities:
Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Position Qualifications:
Master Degree in Education, including Nebraska Administrative Certification.
Experience with Title I Programs and Services
Experience leading and facilitating professional learning communities
LETRS training or other training in the Science of Reading
Experience in effectively implementing/leading positive supports systems
Knowledgeable of the components of a Multi-Tiered System of Support
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to establish trust and rapport with students, parents and staff.
