Director of DevelopmentJob Type: Direct HirePay: $80-90kLocation: Pittsfield, MATEC is assisting a local non-profit organization recruit for a Director of Development to join their dynamic team. This employee will be responsible for working with all logistics of donor relationship efforts. The ideal candidate will have years of experience in the non-profit fundraising industry.Job Responsibilities:In conjunction with CEO, Board, and senior management, develop a comprehensive development strategy to include individuals, corporate, foundations and government grants. The strategy will have measurable and achievable short (6-month) and long term (12-month) goals and include incorporating major gifts, capital campaigns and other major fundraising campaigns to meet budget objectives.Have primary responsibility for development and execution of all proposals; write and archive all proposals with a long-term relationship-management approach.Meet with current and prospective donors/supporters on a continual basis to establish effective communications and develop the donor/supporter relationship.Assist the CEO, Board and senior management to prioritize development objectives based on reasonable timetable and outcome of success.Develop internal infrastructure and systems to successfully support development efforts.Recruit and coordinate interns or other volunteer support to development efforts.Oversee grant seeking including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements.Act as lead for direct capital campaigns, fundraising events and other major fundraising drivesDevelop and maintain positive working relationships with funders and potential funders.Make public appearances/accept speaking engagements to share information about the organization with the community from the perspective of promoting fundraising.Manage print and digital media to promote fundraising events and increase awareness of the mission in the community with the long-term objective of improving fundraising potential.Ensure that reporting, record keeping, and ongoing communication with funders and the Board are maintained and timely.Source, implement and maintain a new fundraising database, with the assistance of part-time administrative support.Oversee fundraising database and produce timely and accurate financial reports.Report on program progress to Leadership and the Board.Identify potential resources and work with fundraising consultants as needed to accomplish goals.Manage the recording and acknowledgement of all gifts, financial transactions, and statistics using fundraising software.Supervise Development department work with the Finance department, assuring that gifts are coded appropriately and that fundraising reports are reconciled on a monthly basisOther duties as assigned.Job Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years of development experienceExperience developing and implementing comprehensive development strategies, to include individual, corporate, foundations and government grants along with measurable and achievable short and long term goals and include incorporating major gifts, capital campaigns and other major fundraising campaignsProficiency with Microsoft Office and learning new software
