Job Summary:

The post-doctoral fellow is responsible for the synthesis of several small and large drug-like molecules, purification of bioactive molecules, structural analysis, and screening of compounds in wild type and mutant mammalian systems (in vitro and in vivo) to assess their potential effect in rare human disease conditions. The postdoctoral researcher is expected to be familiar with standard organic synthesis procedures, NMR, mass spectrometry, silica gel flash column chromatography, and HPLC. In addition to research activities, the following are required: documenting protocols, keeping lab notebook records up to date, summarizing results in written format, and presenting findings weekly and monthly in support of the research activities.

Responsibilities:

Subject knowledge and oral/written communication skills to discuss and document research progress.

Ability to work independently, accurately, and to problem-solve technical and methodological issues that arise during the course of the research.

Ability to apply sound research techniques, methodology, and logical critical analysis.

Strong organization and interpersonal skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Recent PhD in synthetic chemistry / nucleotide chemistry.

Minimum of 3 first-author publications.
