Certification Details Active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS TNCC is preferred but not required AZ license or compact license required Job Details THIS POSITION REQUIRES A FULL 3 YEARS OF ICU EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED. The right candidate will have 3 full years of current ICU experience and hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and AZ license or compact license (TNCC is preferred). Travelers could also float to the sister facility Mercy Gilbert, if needed. Typically, every other weekend is required but might have to work 3 weekends a month if unit is busy and needs extra coverage. Flexibility is a must. Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam upon offer with 2 max attempts. There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation (study guides will be provided with the first day instructions). COVID vaccine is required or declination form with appropriate documentation AND hospital approval. Job Requirements FULL 3 YEARS OF RECENT ICU EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED Active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and AZ license or compact license. Experience must also include EITHER neuro or CV. Must pass a dysrhythmia exam upon offer with 2 max attempts. Pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation. Schedule Information Every other weekend is required; might have to work 3 weekends a month if unit is busy. Travelers must be flexible with scheduling. Self scheduling. Manager may need to balance shifts for unit needs. Weekend Requirements: 3 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule, Nightshift weekends are Friday - Saturday. Dayshift are Saturday - Sunday Holiday Requirements: May have 1 holiday off in an assignment No additional call/standby shifts required. However, may be low censused up to 3 times per contract depending on unit needs Unit Specific Information Unit will require floating to sister facility if needed. Nurse to Patient Ratios is generally 1:2, 1:1 RNs are required to titrate drips. Charge Nurse responsibilities include not taking patients. Unit specific orientation for 1-2 days Common titratable and/or set rate drips include Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Precedex, Morphine, Dilaudid, Ketamine, Rocuronium, Levophed, Vasopressin, Cardene, Labetatol, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin, Insulin No additional call/standby shifts required Float to telemetry with a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio as needed Scrub Color: Navy Surgical ICU - Trauma Neuro Surgery Medical ICU - Medical Cardiac Overflow Expectation is to float between all 3 ICUs Additional Details ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications will be pre-screened. Auto Offer off of Prescreen Recommendation Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48hrs PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE of a position. Will validate skills for trauma, neuro and specialty devices as needed.
