Certification Details Intro to Fetal Monitoring BLS NRP Job Details Specialty: L&D RN 221103510 Expected to circulate the ORs, screen for competency in normal newborn assessments and routine baby care. Expected to float to Postpartum on occasion which requires care of the infant as well as the mom. Labor & Delivery department requires the ability to manage high-risk OB and routine obstetric care. Charge Nurse on shifts and may take an assignment. Common diagnoses/Types of patients include High-risk OB and routine obstetric care. Job Requirements BLS, Intro to Fetal Monitoring, NRP certifications required. Must be able to circulate in OR. Competency in normal newborn assessments and routine baby care. Willingness to float to Postpartum occasionally. Ability to manage common titratable &/or set rate drips such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, pain meds. Able to perform duties with OB/Neonatologist and Anesthesia in-house 24/7. Required to titrate drips and manage RT equipment (troubleshooting, etc.). Capability to read tele monitor strips and work with the EFM System: Obix. Schedule Information Shifts: 0630-1900, 1830-0700 Self-scheduling available, can accommodate most schedule requests. Weekends: Every third weekend, may increase based on unit need. Holidays: 1 major, 1 minor required. Floating Requirements: Will float to Postpartum, occasional float as a sitter. Unit Specific Information Number of L&D Beds: 16 labor rooms and 9 antepartum rooms Number of OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections: 3 Number of Triage beds: 7 bed triage unit Number of Postpartum beds: 36 Births per month: Up to 400 Charge Nurse presence: on both shifts Support Staff: 2 OBTs per shift Tele/Monitor Techs presence and their responsibilities. OB/Neonatologist and Anesthesia always in-house. EFM System: Obix Scrubs/Dress code: Surgical scrubs provided Orientation shifts: 2-3 unit/department-specific.
