The Field Service Engineer provides service to customers with regards to preventative maintenance, retrofit installation, troubleshooting, and repair with minimal support.Key Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain inventory of parts and suppliesInstall and repair scientific instrumentation manufactured by Luminex Corporation at customer locations within a multi-state geographic region.Manage an expense account, service tools, and spare parts inventories.Interface daily with internal and external customersUtilize the CRM system to capture full documentation of all calls and entering appropriate codes to ensure accurate history of reporting trends and corrective actionsMeeting daily service repair needs and driving customer satisfaction through service excellenceExercising of judgement within defined procedures, standards, and company policies and procedures is mandatoryCompliance with field service technical standards is requiredMeeting departmental expectations regarding the following:
Response timePM completion ratesService callbacksCustomer Satisfaction Survey Results
Service is provided Monday through Friday, typically between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., occasionally requiring extended workdays.Other duties as assigned.Education, Experience, and Qualifications
Technical school or military technical training equivalent in Electronics Technology or Computer Science requiredBiotechnical training or associate degree or higher in an engineering discipline preferred1+ Years Experience in one of the following: Field Service, In-house Biomed, Customer facing role requiredHigh mechanical aptitude and good problem-solving/communication skills (High proficiency)Fluency in English as well as local language of the residential country is required (High proficiency)Knowledge of electronic measuring equipment (Low proficiency)Ability to work with a team (Medium proficiency)Customer relationship skills (Medium proficiency)Licenses and Certifications
Valid Passport or eligibility requiredStandard Physical Demands
Possible exposure to Chemicals, Lasers, Excessive Noise, etc. - RarelyPossible exposure to mechanical, biologic and chemical hazardsTravel Requirements
75% Travel may be required, including international.Requires travel on short notice; overnight travel may be required depending on service region requirementsWhat we offer
