Job Details

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist Physical Therapists in providing direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, functional training, and physical modalities.
  2. Monitor and document patient progress, updating the treatment plan as necessary.
  3. Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and exercises that can be done at home.
  4. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws.
  5. Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of therapy equipment and treatment areas.
  6. Participate in team meetings and professional development activities to stay updated with the latest trends in physical therapy.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.
  8. Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and billing.

Qualifications:

  1. Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  2. Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of practice.
  3. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  4. Successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  6. Strong understanding of physical therapy principles, techniques, and equipment.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  8. Proficiency in electronic health record systems.
  9. Physical stamina to work on your feet for extended periods and to lift and move patients as needed.
  10. Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
