The Vice President (VP) of Lending is a strategic leader responsible for planning, directing, managing, and evaluating all areas of consumer and mortgage lending to develop and grow the credit union’s loan portfolio. The VP of Lending will create a positive team environment that allows team members to thrive. Policies and procedures will be developed to ensure strong foundations for growth, while utilizing technology and strategic partnerships to increase our effectiveness and relevancy. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person ready to use their strong lending background to participate in the growth the Mission City Federal Credit Union is positioned to achieve.JOB DUTIES:Participate in the credit union’s long and short term strategic planning.Set the lending department’s strategic plans to align with the credit union’s business plan. Establish and ensure the implementation of target goals for the department.Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures in accordance with credit union goals and strategies. Work with other departments to maintain consistency in credit union policies and procedures.Oversee all consumer lending operations functions including origination, processing, underwriting, closing/funding, and servicing. Manage loan origination systems, auto-decision engines, and lending partnerships.Oversee the development and monitoring of performance standards. Provide mentoring, coaching, or training to support and develop supervisors and staff.Research and evaluate the feasibility of new lending products. Develop and implement plans for expansion of lending programs.Ensure that consumer and mortgage loan policies, procedures, services, products, and documentation meet federal and state regulations.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of general economic conditions or changing trends that may affect the credit union. Provide timely feedback that allows the credit union to react competitively.Maintain knowledge of competitors' rates and terms and other trends relating to consumer lending. Construct products, rates, and terms that reflect the marketplace.Develop, analyze, and complete monthly loan reports. Develop procedures and reporting tools for effective information to flow through the department.Responsible for the sale of residential mortgage loans on the secondary market.Responsible for the ongoing servicing of residential mortgage loans that are held in portfolio or sold servicing retained.Promotes cross-sell opportunities throughout the organization's lines of business.Responsible for the collections and asset recovery.Represent and promote the credit union at external functions.QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Minimum of 5 years of progressive lending experience in a leadership/management role in a credit union or similar financial institution is required.Demonstrated experience presenting and working with Executive Management and Regulators.Thorough knowledge of financial institution loan products and applicable policies and standards in consumer lending.Coaching/leadership/management experience within past 3 years.Ability to effectively lead team to meet performance goals.Extensive experience in assisting member with inquiries and/or problem resolution.Experience identifying opportunities to enhance member financial needs, goals and objectives.Strong verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.Heightened attention to detail, time management and organization.About MCFCU:Mission City Federal Credit Union is a small-but-mighty financial cooperative.
