Approximately July 2024; renewal subject to funding availability, performance, and/or need; pending position clearance and availability of funds.Duties:Assist in planning and managing the daily operations of the medical education division.Assist in the coordination of monthly mala work days.Create presentation and promotional material (physical and digital) for conference presentations, newsletters, and websites.Assist in preparing schedule of classes.Assist with admission process from recruitment to preparing and tracking student records into programs.Position requires significant interaction with communities and medical professionals.Assist in review of scientific manuscripts, including editing of copy, completeness of references, and appropriateness of abstracts. Prepare manuscripts and other materials for publication and dissemination.Principal work site is Kaka‘ako Medical School Campus.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Classified graduate status in good academic standing (minimum 3.0 GPA) at the University of Hawaii Manoa.Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Zoom).Demonstrated ability to make independent judgments under general supervision.Working knowledge of general principles of research such as scientific methodology, protection of human subjects, and confidentiality.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to attend meetings away from the office and strong initiative to identify resources and problem-solve.Desirable Qualifications:Experience working in a postsecondary education setting or programs involving Native Hawaiian and Pacific-island communities.Research experience with Native Hawaiian or Pacific Island health or medical issues.Understanding of Hawaiian and other Pacific Island cultural values, practices, and beliefs.To Apply:Submit cover letter indicating how you satisfy the minimum and desirable qualifications, resume/curriculum vitae, and the names and contact information (including email addresses) of two (2) references to:Kimberly Yamauchi, Department of Native Hawaiian Health, 651 Ilalo St MEB 306, Honolulu, HI 96813Inquiries:
