Tax Director/ Tax Manager Salary - $120K-$160K + bonus

Tax Director/ Tax Manager
Job Summary:
The Tax Director will lead companies' tax-related functions and work with internal cross-functional teams and external tax advisors on tax compliance, analysis, and research. The role will be responsible for reviewing, implementing, and coordinating all tax-related matters and policies. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Finance.
Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Manage the Company’s tax function to ensure proper compliance and timely filings and all tax-related matters are reviewed, implemented, and coordinated appropriately across the Company
- Assist and coordinate with external tax advisors on all compliance, audits, filings, and payment requirements
- Serve as the primary contact for all sales/use and property tax matters at the Company
- Review and reconcile all tax-related journal entries and general ledger accounts for accuracy
- Manage and continually assess the Company’s tax processes and ensure necessary improvements are implemented and coordinated effectively
- Implement and update processes as needed to reflect changes in applicable state and local sales/use/property tax laws and policies
- Research and advise on all sales/use and property tax matters impacting the Company
- Communicate with state and local tax authorities on tax-related correspondence
- Performs other duties as assigned
Skills we are seeking:
- 7 – 10+ years of tax experience with a specific focus in the areas of sales/use and property
- A mix of industry and professional / consulting experience, a plus
- Undergraduate in Accounting or finance-related degree required
- Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge and application
- Effective analytical skills and extreme attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with tax software (Avalara, Vertex, or similar) and enterprise business systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or similar
