Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Schedule:

Monday - Thursday: 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM

Mandatory overtime may be required on Fridays.


General Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing work order requests to build and repair equipment efficiently and accurately, while minimizing associated costs. This role also involves preventive maintenance assignments to ensure all equipment remains in good operating condition and meets the plant's goals.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Electrical Projects:
    Design and install electrical systems as needed.
  • Troubleshooting:
    Diagnose and correct electrical and mechanical issues, including reading electrical schematics.
  • Mechanical Repairs:
    Dismantle and examine mechanical devices to identify and replace defective parts. Adjust functional parts and control instruments.
  • Machinery Operation:
    Set up and operate shop machinery such as drill presses, grinders, band saws, and welders. Use hand and pneumatic tools for repairs and modifications.
  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic Work:
    Install, repair, and modify hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as required.
  • Cooling Water System:
    Operate and maintain the cooling water system.
  • Research and Ordering:
    Research supplies, parts, and machines necessary to complete work orders. Order parts using the company's computer system.
  • Inventory Management:
    Assist in organizing and maintaining an accurate inventory of parts.
  • Documentation:
    Perform and document work orders and preventative maintenance tasks as assigned. Maintain all required paperwork, records, maintenance logs, and manuals.
  • Company Support:
    Support the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company.
  • Safety Compliance:
    Follow applicable safety, health, and environmental rules while performing duties. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Additional Duties:
    Perform other duties as assigned.



Physical and Environmental Demands:
  • Requires standing, sitting, walking, crouching, kneeling, stooping, and climbing stairs and ladders.
  • Must use hands to handle and feel objects or manipulate controls. Ability to talk, see, and hear is essential.
  • Work is typically in a high-noise plant environment.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds; occasionally handle items up to 250 pounds.
  • Exposure to a dusty environment with toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Regular exposure to hazardous moving equipment; use of safety equipment is required.
  • Work may be indoors or outdoors; typical noise level is loud, with exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, vibration, and risk of electrical shock.

  • Reports to: Maintenance Manager



Qualifications:

Education:
  • Technical School Degree or equivalent experience (required)
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience (preferred)
Experience:
  • Manufacturing (various disciplines): Minimum 3 years in each of the following:
    • Carpentry
    • Electrical
    • Welding/Brazing
    • Maintenance
    • Machine Operations
    • Plumbing
    • Construction
    • Hydraulics
    • Industrial Operations
    • Mechanical
    • Pneumatics
Skills and Certifications:
  • Personal Skills:
    • Manual Dexterity: Intermediate
    • Quantitative Skills: Intermediate
    • Reading/Comprehension: Intermediate
    • Conflict Resolution: Intermediate
