Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Schedule:
First Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM




General Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing maintenance assignments to build, repair, and maintain all equipment in optimal operating condition. This role requires a proactive approach to minimize downtime and costs, contributing to the plant's goals. The technician is expected to be multi-skilled and able to perform maintenance activities across various craft disciplines.




Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Project Completion:
    Complete projects with minimal guidance, demonstrating a proactive attitude toward minimizing equipment downtime and lost production capability.

  • Troubleshooting:
    Diagnose and repair mechanical devices. Dismantle and examine devices to identify and replace defective parts as needed.

  • Machinery Operation:
    Set up and operate shop machinery, including lathes, drill presses, grinders, band saws, and welders. Utilize hand and pneumatic tools for modifications and repairs.

  • Hydraulic and Pneumatic Work:
    Install, repair, and modify hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as necessary.

  • Reliability Improvement:
    Enhance the reliability and uptime of all equipment with a preventive maintenance mindset.

  • Equipment Operation:
    Operate forklifts and hydraulic working platforms as required.

  • Research and Inventory Management:
    Research supplies, parts, and tools needed for work orders. Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of parts.

  • Documentation:
    Contribute to the upkeep and updating of required paperwork, including records, maintenance logs, documents, manuals, and PM logs.

  • Company Support:
    Support the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company.

  • Safety Compliance:
    Follow applicable safety, health, and environmental rules and guidelines while performing job duties.

  • Housekeeping:
    Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

  • Additional Duties:
    Perform other duties as assigned.




Physical and Environmental Demands:
  • Regularly required to use hands for handling and operating equipment; reach with arms; and communicate verbally.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and operate machinery with feet.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and occasionally move items over 250 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Requires the use of safety equipment as dictated by the work area, such as safety glasses, hard hats, respirators, gloves, and hearing protection.
  • Work is primarily indoors with a typical loud noise level.
  • Frequently exposed to wet/humid conditions, extreme heat, and electrical shock risks.
  • Occasionally exposed to high places, outdoor weather conditions, and potentially hazardous materials.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles; may experience vibrations and exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Technical School Degree or equivalent experience (Required)

  • Manufacturing - PLC Troubleshooting and Repair: 5 Years
