Position OverviewPlease note: This is an internal posting. Only current, full-time and part-time employees of Lee College may apply.Responsible for performing and managing all procedures at the circulation desk and thorough management, maintenance, and troubleshooting for laptop software and hardware problems.

Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesCirculation Desk:Answer patrons' questions regarding library facilities and operationsAdminister all circulation transactions, including but not limited to materials, hold procedures, fine creation of new accounts, updating of accounts, etc., assist students and other patrons with basic electronic holdings and reference questionsAssist patrons with all library reserves, including electronic course reservesTake reservations for multiuse library facilities-including group study roomsAssist with bar-coding and stripping circulating materials when necessaryVerify student standing in PeopleSoftReport any malfunctions with machinery, including workstationsEnforce library and college policiesAssist with TexShare PatronsCreate patron accountsCheck in/out library itemsSupervise circulation student employees in the eveningClose circulation area at night according to proper proceduresClean, stock circulation desk and front of library,Laptop Technician, Electronic Quality Control and Special Projects Specialist:

Answer user inquiries regarding software or hardware operation to resolve problemsProvide technical support for software maintenance or useRead technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and supportInstall and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specificationsUsing computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions or process informationInspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defectsCollaborate with others to resolve information technology issuesTest computer hardware performanceInstall computer softwareMaintain computer hardwareActs as the laptop manager in absence of the Circulation CoordinatorContact students through email and phone to notify them about their eligibility to check out a laptop

Additional Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssist with research by studying articles, newspapers, and books and use the data acquired to help with projects and reports delegated by the Director or the LibrariansAssist the Distance Education Librarian by inspecting the quality of library electronic resources on a regular basisPerform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesInternal candidates only - Must be a current full-time or part-time employee of Lee CollegeHigh School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)Six (6) months of related work experienceMust be available to work evenings and Saturdays when neededExperience working in a libraryFamiliar with Microsoft Office Software, Spreadsheets, and Integrated Library Systems
