is currently recruiting for Brake Press Operator at our Peoria, IL Facility.

This is a 1st shift position: 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays for a few hours depending on our workload.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The

Brake Press Operator

programs and operates the brake press to process and bend metal components as specified by written instructions, schedules and drawings; and inspects completed work for conformance to specifications. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in brake press operation, and demonstrate a high quality of workmanship. This person must be able to show timeliness, quality results, and dependability.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesReads and interprets diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine unit or piece(s) to be processedLifts and maneuvers metal components onto and off of machinePerforms setup and operation of computer programmable/controlled brake press machinesPlans and lays out bending sequence, referring to drawings, blueprints or specificationsBends a variety of products or assembliesUses precision instruments to check tolerances and quality of components, such as calipers, square, and tape measureMay align, fit, or adjusts parts to meet operating requirementsMay assist engineers in the modification, parts substitution, and repairMay perform minor maintenance proceduresCoordinates work as demand requiresMachine alignment monitorsPerforms all work in accordance with established standards and safety proceduresTroubleshoots and reworks pieces that fail testsMaintains a clean, safe work area free of foreign materialsCandidates should also have the following:

Demonstrated high level of quality in workmanshipBasic math, reading, and reasoning skillsAbility to communicate effectively, written and oralDemonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructionsDemonstrated multi-tasking ability to respond to manufacturing needsHigh attention to detail; ability to visually inspect and measure partsAbility to work independently or with a teamForklift driving experience preferred

Pay depending on experience.
