Preferred Experience:Eligible candidates must meet the minimum experience and training required for the job: Possession of either a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in epidemiology or in a biological science such as biology, genetics, nursing or virology; AND at least three years of professional experience utilizing the Statistical Analysis System (SAS) to analyze data. OR Either a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree or Master of Science (MS) degree in epidemiology or statistics; AND at least three years of professional experience utilizing the Statistical Analysis System (SAS) to analyze data. AND Experience working with persons living with HIV, HIV service providers, and culturally diverse populations.Experience in data reporting, management, and statistical analysis utilizing tools such as SAS

Role Description:

Description of Duties

This is an HIV Data Analyst position under the direct supervision of the Director of HIV Surveillance and Epidemiology Program. The resource communicates and collaborates on a regular basis with the supervisor, HIV surveillance Data Manager, Data to Care Coordinator, and other staff with related duties to assure consistent continuity of the program.

The responsibilities for this position are to (a) receive, process, and manage HIV/AIDS data, (b) identify and acquire other appropriate ancillary datasets, (c) perform data analysis using SAS and produce reports (using MS Office Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel), (d) review data for errors and initiate corrective actions, (e) distribute data in compliance with existing polices and regulations, and (e) provide HIV/AIDS expertise and training support upon request. Ensure that all provided HIV/AIDS and public health consultative services meet published national standards of excellence, practice and timeliness. This employee will work closely with the HIV surveillance and Division of HIV Disease staff to advance the objectives of HIV surveillance and prevention in Pennsylvania. Performs other related duties as requested.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

The Bureau of Epidemiology reserves the right to reject or remove any unqualified contract staff if they cannot perform their duties at an acceptable level in order to meet the Pennsylvania Department of Health's standards. The supplier is expected to replace the contract staff ASAP depending on the needs of the Bureau of Epidemiology.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health will provide all contract staff with an Identification Badge. Contractor staff shall be required to take a training in HIV Security and Confidentiality and sign an assurance statement regarding confidentiality of case information.

DRESS CODE

ID must be worn at all times when on duty and must be clearly visible and readable to other staff and consumers. The resource staff shall dress in a responsible manner that demonstrates professionalism at all times.
