Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Neuro ICU Job Duration: 13 weeks (with possible extension) Shift: Night (3x12-Hour: 18:45 - 07:15) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years in Neuro ICU License: NC or Compact license (required at time of start) Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Must-Have: - Strong Neuro Critical Care background- Experience with Vents, IV start, Neuro ICU, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, stroke management, EVD, ICP monitoring, post-neurosurgery management, ventilated patient care, isolation precautions/PPE, lumbar drain experience, and arterial line management Job Description: - Deliver high-quality patient care in a Neuro Intensive Care Unit- Manage patients with various neuro diagnoses (e.g., strokes, hemorrhagic conditions such as SAH, SDH, craniotomies, carotid procedures, aneurysm interventions, seizures, and neuromuscular disorders)- Handle equipment and procedures specific to Neuro ICU (e.g., EVDs, lumbar drains, ICP monitoring, Arctic Sun)- Be flexible with patient ratios, which may flex up to 3:1 during high census periods- Adapt to comprehensive stroke center procedures and protocols- Collaborate efficiently with the medical team, following the unit's scheduling and float requirements- Work every other weekend, adhering to the unit's scheduling demands- Comply with flu vaccination requirements, with exemptions for valid medical or religious reasons- Complete all mandatory pre-start testing and orientation modules- Follow the unit's fatigue policy to ensure safety and compliance
