Posting Context Statement

4-H Youth Development Program Specialist will lead the Learn Everywhere with 4-H program. They will provide strategic guidance to teams and Program Coordinators, promote Extension and 4-H, and support local communities in expanding their educational opportunities. They will also develop efficient strategies and relationships to ensure the 4-H programs deliver desirable outcomes. The Program Specialist, reporting to the Principal Investigator, will oversee the Learn Everywhere with 4-H program to meet short and long-term goals.

Position Overview

This position performs a complex mix of duties in support of project or program development and delivery.

Duties may include:Coordinate office operationsDocument and tracking program schedules and business cyclesPlan and coordinate program meetings and eventsSupport program planning and may assist with the development of operating budgets and/or funding proposalsResearch and compile information for communications such as talking points, speech scripts and responses to correspondence and presentationsCoordinate collection of data and materials for reports and other administrative documentsDevelop and maintain positive liaison relationships with various offices, customers and stakeholders including internal and advisory boardsMay assist with budget management and provide support for financial and/or personnel processesOther duties as assignedUnit URL

Position Qualifications

Required Experience

Three years providing administrative, business operations and/or program supportComposing, proofing and editing a variety of documents, using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materialsUsing computer software and applications for word processing, developing spreadsheets, email and internet researchRequired Education

High School Diploma or equivalentRequired Other

Occasional travel is requiredMust be able to work occasional nights and weekendsAdditional Preferred

Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Youth Development, Curriculum Instruction and Design, Education, or similar fieldsProficient in Microsoft Office package, Adobe and online applicationsExperience gathering and compiling data for reportsExperience with University programs such as Banner, Chrome River and VandalwebKnowledge of project management principlesExperience providing customer serviceExperience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)Experience independently solving problems and performing liaison activities in a work setting and coordinating activities requiring complex arrangementsExcellent verbal/written communication and relationship building skillsValid Drivers LicensePhysical Requirements & Working Conditions

Ability to operate standard office equipmentAbility to sit, stand, reach, bend and lift items up to 40 pounds
